As we’ve finished with “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, now we’re reading “Dracula” by Bram Stoker. It’s a very unusual choice for the team of 5 girls, isn’t it? So now I’d like to talk about the main characters of the story — Count Dracula, a Transylvanian nobleman and centuries-old vampire.

Well, as we already know, Count Dracula has some blood issues: he can’t resist the temptation to bite someone. So I’ve been thinking, maybe he could watch the film “Twilight” or the TV-show “The Vampire’s Diary”, just to see how other vampires live and get blood. So, for example, The Cullens from “Twilight” get donated blood from the local hospital, and the Salvatore brothers hunt animals in the forest for such purposes. Maybe Count Dracula will like such alternatives and it will help him to mix up his routine just a little bit and get some new habits.

Also, here are some interesting words from the book:

  • to feel no compunction [tə] [fil] [nou] [kəmˈpəŋkʃən] (не чувствовать угрызений совести) — not to feel guilty about something you have done or might do;
  • to be conscious of something [ˈkɑnʃəs] [əv] [ˈsəmθɪŋ] (осознавать что-то) — awake, thinking, and knowing what is happening around you;
  • repulsive [rɪˈpəlsɪv] (отталкивающий, омерзительный) — extremely unpleasant or unacceptable;
  • prevalent [ˈprɛvələnt] (преобладающий, господствующий) — existing very commonly or happening often;

Thanks for your attention!
